| Call for Innovations - 11th Annual Multi-Stakeholders Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs The 11th United Nations Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum), scheduled for 6-7 May 2026 at UN HQ in New York, is searching for breakthrough, scalable solutions addressing critical challenges in low-resource settings that can help accelerate progress on the SDGs. Young innovators and early-stage solution developers are encouraged to apply and contribute their creativity to advancing the SDGs. Apply here: 2026 UN Call for Innovations for the SDGs Deadline for application: 18 January 2026 About the Call The 2026 edition aligns with the STI Forum theme: “Transformative, equitable and coordinated science, technology and innovation for the 2030 Agenda and a sustainable future for all.” The Call seeks to amplify the work of young innovators and underrepresented groups—including women and Indigenous innovators—whose leadership is vital for sustainable development. Innovations are invited that advance: - SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
- SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
- SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
Selected solutions will be showcased at the UN STI Forum—with potential opportunities for in-person participation at UN Headquarters, depending on resources—and selected innovators may also be invited to join a virtual capacity-building program focused on communicating impact, developing commercialization skills, and advancing their solutions toward implementation. Young innovators from the Global South are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants with potentially patentable innovations should keep technical details confidential until filing.
