2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum SUMMARY REPORT & KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM GLOBAL ONLINE STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION The 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum will take place on 27 January 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York under the theme “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all”. Special emphasis will be placed on the Sustainable Development Goals under in-depth review at the 2026 high-level political forum on sustainable development (HLPF), namely Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Goal 9 (Industry Innovation and Infrastructure), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). To inform the preparation of the 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) convened a global online stakeholder consultation from 15 September to 31 October 2025 to solicit written views, experiences, and proposals from all relevant stakeholders. The report summarizes key messages from stakeholders' responses received during the stakeholder consultation, covering topics such as key trends, effective partnership examples, key drivers of partnership effectiveness, capacity, knowledge and resource needs of partnerships, and policy recommendations to Governments to further strengthen the impact of partnerships, among others. It also contains detailed recommendations from stakeholders to improve the arrangements of the ECOSOC Partnership Forum in the context of the HLPF/ECOSOC review during the 80th session of the General Assembly. 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum Participation The 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum will be open to all those in possession of valid UN Grounds Passes for the UNHQ in New York up to the capacity of the conference rooms.
