6-7 May 2026 | 10am - 6pm EDT | CR4 UNHQ New York| Live on UN WebTV
Scientists, innovators, leaders from Governments, UN system, civil society and the private sector from around the world will gather at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 6-7 May 2026 for the 11th Multistakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs (2026 STI Forum) held under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council.
Held under the theme “Transformative, equitable and coordinated science, technology and innovation for the 2030 Agenda and a sustainable future for all”, the Forum will place special emphasis on clean water (SDG 6), energy (SDG 7), infrastructure (SDG 9), sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), and partnerships (SDG 17), aligned with the Goals under review at the 2026 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in July.
With artificial intelligence advancing at a lightning speed, a timely discussion will take place on the future of science, technology and innovation for sustainable development ahead of the 2027 Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence Governance to be held back-to-back with the Forum in 2027.
Young innovators, selected following an open call, will give lightning talks at the Forum, showcasing practical, locally-grounded solutions with strong potential for adaptation and scale from Peru to Nigeria, from China to the Netherlands.
Over 60 side events will be organized from 5-7 May by Member States, UN system entities, scientific and engineering communities, academia, civil society organizations at the UN Headquarters, at off-site location or virtually.
