Using Global Economic Projections to Inform Policy A virtual UN DESA Classroom Policy Dialogue Thursday, 19 March 2026

Against a backdrop of persistent inflationary pressures, uneven growth, rising debt vulnerabilities, geopolitical tensions, and the accelerating impacts of climate change, the report looks at how current economic trajectories are shaping prospects for sustainable development across regions and income groups. To bring these critical ideas to a wide audience, UN DESA, in partnership with UN Academic Impact, will hold a fully virtual Classroom Policy Dialogue on 19 March 2026, designed specifically for college and university students and educators. This Classroom Dialogue will highlight key findings from the 2026 WESP and provide participants with a unique opportunity to engage with report authors. Additionally, participants will hear from Fadhel Kaboub, President of the Global Institute of Sustainable Prosperity and member of the UN High-level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs (HLAB), about the effects of recent geopolitical events on the world's economic outlook.
