Israel attacked Iran's capital early Friday in strikes that targeted the country's nuclear program and killed at least two top military officers, raising the potential for an all-out war between the two bitter Middle East adversaries. Simmering tensions over Iran's rapidly advancing nuclear program boiled over and Iran quickly retaliated, sending a swarm of drones at Israel. Read more. |

The Department of Homeland Security said Thursday that it has begun notifying hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans that their temporary permission to live and work in the United States has been revoked and that they should leave the country. Read more. |

The termination notices are being sent by email to people who entered the country under the humanitarian parole program for the four countries, officials said. DHS said that the letters informed people that both their temporary legal status and their work permit was revoked "effective immediately."
Donald Trump's decision to end the parole program for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans was challenged at the courts, but the Supreme Court last month permitted the Trump administration to revoke those temporary legal protections.

The Air India plane crashed minutes after takeoff Thursday afternoon in the northwestern city of Ahmedabad. Indian authorities said Friday the investigation into the crash was underway, which is expected to include experts from the plane's maker Boeing and U.S. aviation regulators.
The lone survivor was a passenger, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national of Indian origin. Ramesh was thrown from the aircraft and walked to an ambulance, according to Dr. Dhaval Gameti, who treated Ramesh.
- It's the first crash of a Boeing 787, according to the Aviation Safety Network database. There was no information yet about possible causes of the crash.
